Overview

KUZUN
Kuzun is located in 1300m altitude in the valley. It is quite a big village with population around 1000 persons.

ELIKH and YERGI KEK (SELIBUR)
Elikh and Yergi Kek are the highest villages of Azerbaijan locating at 2370m above sea level on the slopes of mount Shahdag. The population of the villages is just 20-30 persons

GKHER
Gkher is located at 1900m altitude on the slope of Shahdag mount with the population of just 30-40 persons.
The people of all these villages are of Lezgi ethnicity.

TOUR PLAN

1st DAY
07:30 - Departure from Baku.
11:30 - Arriving in Kuzun village. Lunch.
13:30 - Start hiking to Yergi Kek village (1000m ascent with little breaks 4-5 hours hiking)
18:00 - Arriving at Yergi Kek village.
19:00 - Dinner.

Staying overnight in Yergi Kek.
Note: Early morning we will climb up the hill which is very close the village for watching the sunrise.

Total ascent - 1180 m
Total Descent - 100 m

2nd DAY
08:00 - Breakfast
09:00 - Hiking to Elikh village (3km 1.5 hour. easy hiking)
10:30 - Break in Elikh village
11:00 - Hiking down to Gkher village (4km, 400 m descent). Lunch.
14:30 - Hiking down to Kuzun village (700 m descent. 3 hours)
17:30 - Arriving at Kuzun. Dinner.
19:00 - Driving back to Baku.
22:30 - Getting in Baku.

Total Descent - 750 m

Gkher - Kuzun
Duration - 3 hours
Distance - 9 km
Total ascent - 190 m
Total Descent - 700 m


CLOTHING and EQUIPMENT
Important to have:
Waterproof hiking/trekking shoes
Insulated jackets
Backpack (30 L)
Beanie
Gloves
Water (1.5L)

Recommended:
Hiking/trekking sticks
Snacks, dry fruits etc.

FOOD and ACCOMMODATION
We will have meals in village houses. We will stay in Yergi Kek village. Sleep on the mattress and blanket on the floor. There will be enough rooms for normal distribution. Toilet is outside traditional, no bathroom.
NOTE: If you are vegetarian or vegan, please let us know during registration.
